Senior Research Fellow in the Institute of Ethnology, Research Centre for the Humanities, Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Budapest, Hungary. Having pursued her studies in the Loránd Eötvös University in Budapest and the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris, France, she teaches history and cultural anthropology in the universities of Budapest and Szeged, Hungary. Her research interests include the history of ethnography and anthropology, the history of representing the non-European Other in Europe, and the history of early, and modern travel and communication.
